LED lights have obvious advantages

LED is the abbreviation of English light emitting diode. Its basic structure is an electroluminescent semiconductor material placed on a leaded shelf and then sealed with epoxy resin to protect the inner core. . This makes it even stronger, but its advantages are not just that.

"Evaluating the comprehensiveness of light source and photoelectricity, we generally use lumens." Zhou Taiming said. Lumens are the units of luminous flux. From this unit, it can be seen how much the total amount of light is emitted when the light source is at 1 watt (W). In general, the maximum light conversion efficiency is 555 nanometers (nm). Ordinary incandescent lamps can only reach 15nm, fluorescent lamps are 50nm, and the energy-saving lamps commonly used in the market can reach 60nm. "But these are not as good as LED lights, it can reach 120~140nm. This number is already very impressive." Zhou Taiming said.

In addition, the life of 50,000 hours of LED lights is much higher than 200 hours of fluorescent lamps and 1000 hours of incandescent lamps. Moreover, for environmentalists, LED lights are also a good choice. First, it is made of non-toxic materials. Unlike mercury-containing fluorescent lamps, it can cause pollution. At the same time, LEDs can be recycled and reused. Secondly, LEDs consume low electrodes. In general, the operating voltage of the LED is 2~3.6V. The operating current is 0.02~0.03A. This means that it consumes no more than 0.1W.


Misunderstood blue light

Since LED lights have so many advantages, why do people not trust it? One of the most important points is the blue eye. If you want to clarify this issue, first understand the concept of Blu-ray.

In the "Ordinary Lighting LED and Blu-ray" white paper, light of 435 ~ 500nm is called blue light and blue light, but in general, 400 ~ 500nm is called blue light area. “Blu-ray is the most energy-intensive part closest to ultraviolet light,”If a person is exposed to blue light for a long time, it is easy to cause eye damage, especially causing macular degeneration. Because blue light is absorbed by retinal pigment epithelial cells, it triggers the formation of free radicals, which cause apoptosis of retinal epithelial cells and thus cannot supply photoreceptor cells.

But Blu-ray is not only found in LED lights, but also in daylight, mobile phone screens, etc., and Blu-ray is not nothing. First of all, it is an integral part of daylight. If there is no blue light, people can't see the blue sky. Moreover, it can regulate the body clock. In 2003, researchers at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, USA, and Jefferson Medical School found that the human body clock is more sensitive to shorter wavelengths of blue light than longer wavelength green light. "When the morning sun rises, the blue light in the sun increases, the secretion of sebaceous glands in the human body increases, people wake up from their dreams. And in the evening, the blue light fades, the sun turns into a red sunset, and the melatonin in the human body increases. Secretion, people feel sleepy."

"People can't stare at the sun all the time, so people who use LED light sources can't just stare at the light bulb." In the white paper, experts through a series of data analysis, the LED blue light hazard is no different than other light sources, but it is recommended to add a protective cover outside the LED lights. When purchasing LED lights, choose a product with guaranteed quality. In normal life, people can avoid the damage of blue light by eating green vegetables and fruits containing more lutein, such as cabbage, spinach, broccoli, coriander and other foods, and rationally arrange online time or wear anti-blue light protective glasses. Moreover, if someone has to do cataract surgery, it is best to choose an intraocular lens with blue filter function.
